This exclusive afternoon event, powered by the Consulate General of Canada in Detroit, will bring together business leaders, policymakers, and experts to delve into the significant economic ties between Kentucky and Canada. Attendees will gain valuable insights into current trade dynamics, investment opportunities, and strategies for enhancing this crucial international partnership.

The forum will feature three engaging sessions:

Canadian Business Trade: An expert panel moderated by Jeff Burghardt of the Trade Commissioner Service will provide essential information on investing and starting a business in Canada, covering topics such as investment incentives, legal structures, and immigration processes. Speakers include representatives from Invest in Canada (Paul Brogan), Immigration, Refugee, and Citizenship Canada (David Humphrey), and the Province of Ontario (Earl Provost).

Kentucky and Canada Investment Success Stories: Hear firsthand accounts from leading companies as they share their experiences and strategies for successful cross-border investment. Moderated by Mona Musa, Director, USDOC, this panel will feature perspectives from Kentucky successes like Mike Castle of Alltech and Eric Gregory of the Kentucky Distillers’ Association, as well as Canadian successes like Vikram & Semeer Kalia of E. Hoffman Plastics Inc.

Fireside Chat: The State of the Kentucky and United States-Canada Trade Relationship: A high-level discussion moderated by Consul General Colin Bird of the Canadian Consulate of Detroit will explore the current state of the trade relationship, addressing challenges, opportunities, and the path forward. Esteemed panelists include Mélanie Raymond, Chief Economist, Global Affairs Canada, and a representative from the Federal Reserve Bank of Cleveland (Invited).

Following the insightful sessions, attendees are invited to a Networking Reception from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, featuring a friendly tasting of Kentucky Bourbon and Canadian Whisky, along with heavy hors d'oeuvres, providing an excellent opportunity to connect with fellow participants.

This forum is a must-attend for businesses currently engaged in or considering trade and investment between Kentucky and Canada. With an expected attendance of approximately 100 people, the event offers a unique platform for knowledge sharing and networking.
